I’m still unable to draw, though there a glimmer of light in the tunnel. I have demonstrated a tiny bit of voluntary motion in the right arm and hand, which seem small, but seeing as I couldn’t get it to move, at all, just a couple of weeks ago, it’s big.

During this time, I’ve watched a lot of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. I have tried drawing with my left hand and, let me tell, it ain’t pretty. But, that part of my brain that comes up with ideas only took a few days off. Then it started wanting to get back to work. I considered writing, but found left-handed tying extremely frustrating.  But, as time went on, as it ALWAYS DOES (it’s not ALL about you, Time), writing seemed the only outlet. So, I started writing.

First, i just fleshed out characters and situations. I started writing, and I  kept writing. I’m shooting for a novel, or novella, we’ll have too see how it goes. In the middle of that, it occurred to me that it’s been ten years since I stoped writing my HeroBlog site, so I’ve decided to restart it, taking my inspiration from comics, naturally. When a character’s comic is cancelled and restarted, sometimes many years later, its treated as no time has passed. I’m doing a twist on that theme.

HeroBlog Online

So, if you read this, I hope you will follow the link, above and read the first new HeroBlog post in more than ten years.

Still in recovery,
Joe

So, strokes, eh. Takes months to get back what you lost in minutes. I recommend avoiding them, if you can. II’m still not up to standing, unassisted, for any length of time. Can’t walk, my right knee buckles under my weight. One bright spot, in all this, is my weight. I was 172# at my most recent weighing. I think I was 14, the last time I was at this weight.

Because it it was my right side that was effected, my drawing hand is still out of commission.  This is the longest period of time I’ve ever gone without drawing. It’s making me nuts.  My brain is still on creative mode, but I can’t do anything with it. Maddening. Thankfully, as time has passed, my left-handed typing has improved.

Just thought I’d post something here, should anyone be curious why I’ve gone dormant.
