I haven't thought of a clever company name or anything for this, but I thought I'd post it anyway. Freeman is a character I've had in my head for some time now, in one form or another, and I'm using him in a project that I hope will be my first novel.
Freeman is a genetically-engineered super-soldier, whose people were taken from Earth about three thousand years ago. They have been enhanced with all the bio-engineering their masters could pack into them, including some pretty impressive cybernetic enhancements. Part of the cyber stuff is a control circuit, designed to keep them from even thinking thoughts that would be treasonous. But, in his case, something went wrong with his control circuit a few deployments before he was sent to Earth as part of his masters' plot to conquer the world. They came to Earth, pretending to be a diplomatic mission, opening Earth to galactic contact. When he started to think for himself, he found that he didn't much like his alien masters and what they were doing on Earth. With the help of some of Earth's superhuman protectors, he broke free from them and helped send them packing.
Freeman's powers are pretty basic soldier-stuff. Strength, speed, stamina all far above human norms, augmented by cybernetic improvements to his nervous system, skeleto-muscular enhancements and a sophisticated battle computer. He is a tireless warrior, but far from a war-monger.
